This book, by bestselling author, Jen Turano, was a pleasure to read. It was so great to read about a time where women strived to gain a man’s approval and acceptance, and resembling that time to now where we have a huge women empowerment movement. I love how the main character, Miss Permilia Griswold stood up for what she believed in and had the power to be different.
Her father grew her up in a way that most wouldn’t have, having her be apart of his buisness and being hands on in a work environment was unheard of. Although she was in a new environment she stood on those values and did not have a care in the world of the opinions of others.
This book will make you laugh and also encourage you to be you. No matter what the circumstances and how bad you stick out like a sore thumb, being you is the best thing that you can do.
I’m so glad to have read this book and feel empowered by it. Although it’s a fictional story, life lessons can still be learned and you can relate to the book in a positive way.
